Vishal's upcoming film Magudam, which has been in production for a long time now, is close to its last leg of shoot. He shared an announcement on his X handle, saying that the team wrapped up a demanding two-week shooting schedule in Kakinada, with all of them now returning to Chennai. The actor further expressed relief and gratitude after completing one of the most "toughest" segments of the film, particularly the portions set in the 1990s.

For the unversed, the actor had stepped into direct Magudam last year after creative differences with Ravi Arasu, who was initially in charge of helming the project. The upcoming film marks Vishal's directorial debut and Ravi Arasu is now credited with the story for the movie.

Vishal extended heartfelt thanks to his crew, giving special mention to cinematographer Abhinandan, choreographer Brinda Master, and his direction team for their relentless support. He also acknowledged Prabha for holding things together during the schedule and appreciated his co-stars, including Anjali, John Vijay, and Jayaprakash, along with other female cast members who worked through extreme heat conditions.

The actor reserved a special note of gratitude for his partner Sai Dhanshika, who stood by him during the shoot despite him battling illness.

Vishal also hinted at the musical magic to come from GV Prakash, revealing that the film's first single will be unveiled soon.

Dushara Vijayan and Yogi Babu are also playing key roles in Magudam. While plot details are unknown, Vishal looks to be playing three distinct characters in the film, as revealed by the earlier posters.

Pon Parthiban is writing the dialogues for the film, along with Anandh Kumaresan writing the dialogues in Tamil, and Rajesh A Moorthy writing the dialogues in Telugu. The crew of the film includes NB Srikanth as the editor, and G Durairaj as the art director. RB Choudary is producing Magudam under his Super Good Films banner.

A release date is yet to be announced by the makers.
