Actor Ajith Kumar has been having a successful year on the racing front, participating and winning coveted titles in various racing championships across the world. Recently, his racing team secured a podium finish, winning second position at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in the 24H Series which took place in Belgium.

The actor, who was last seen in Good Bad Ugly, is awaiting a docu-film on his endeavours on the race track. Helmed by director Vijay, a release date for it is yet to be announced. Meanwhile, he is also set to join hands once again with GBU director Adhik Ravichandran for AK64 which is yet to go on floors.

With a busy year ahead, the actor landed in Chennai on Wednesday to cast his vote in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections which happened on Thursday. The actor was among the many enthusiastic voters from the film fraternity to fulfill his democratic responsibilities, and was reportedly one among the first to do so as he stepped into the polling booth in the Thiruvanmiyur constituency as soon as it opened.

Post voting, the actor was happy to show his inked finger to the reporters. But scenes quickly took a drastic turn as he was close to being mobbed by the media as well as the public. Ajith expressed his displeasure at multiple instances and went on to show a stern glare at those who approached too close to him when he was exiting the venue.

At one moment, the actor took out his phone and started recording those who tried to barge into his personal space. Videos of him doing that has gone viral on social media, with many appreciating his quick thinking in the heat of the moment.

The actor has frequently expressed his sadness on the dangers of fan hysteria and has previously recalled many instances where he was injured by unknown members who were present among fans. He has also called out fans for not maintaining dignity by shouting his name in public spaces like temples.

The actor also celebrated his 26th wedding anniversary with Shalini which saw his upcoming filmmakers - Vijay, Venkat Prabhu and Adhik Ravichandran in attendance.

Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar's 1999 film Amarkalam saw a re-release on Friday. Interestingly, the same day Vijay's 2005 film Sivakasi was also re-released in theatres. The actor will also see the re-release of Billa (2007) on May 1, the day when he will be celebrating his 55th birthday.
