Tamil Nadu Election 2026: Simran says 'avoid the drama' at voting booth

It is not clear whether Simran was referring to her experience or to videos of other celebrities being surrounded by crowd as they went to polling booths

Earlier this Thursday, we reported about actor Ajith Kumar being surrounded by fans at the polling booth as he went there to cast his vote. Some other public figures also have to navigate similar chaos to exercise their fundamental responsibility. This is one of the things that actor Simran pointed out in her social media post after casting her vote in the Tamil Nadu Election 2026.

Sharing a picture featuring herself raising her voting finger to inform that she has exercised her duty, Simran wrote, "Let’s focus on the reality avoid the drama, it’s a voting booth not a cinema shoot. We all are one while we vote. Voting is not just my right it’s my responsibility."

It is not clear whether Simran was referring to her experience or to videos of other celebrities being surrounded by crowd as they went to polling booths. In videos circulating on social media, Simran appears to have gone to her polling location and cast her vote without much hullabaloo around her. That said, at a point in one such clip, a police officer can be seen trying to take a selfie with Simran as she was at the polling location and she said something to him.

Simran's Thullatha Manamum Thullum and Priyamanavale co-star, Vijay is contesting in two constituencies at the Tamil Nadu Election this year.

On the film front, Simran was last seen in Tourist Family, directed by Abishan Jeevinth and co-starring Sasikumar. Her upcoming projects include the Hindi film Gabru, co-starring Sunny Deol.
