Vijay's Jana Nayagan makers issue legal warning after full film leak

The legal team of Jana Nayagan's producers has already initiated proceedings against the source of the leak and stated that further action is underway

The legal team of the makers of Jana Nayagan have issued a strong legal notice after the film was reportedly leaked online. KVN Productions, the film’s producer, confirmed that scenes, and now allegedly the full film, have been illegally accessed, copied, and circulated across digital platforms.

Calling the act a serious criminal offence and copyright violation, the production house warned that anyone involved in downloading, sharing, or forwarding the leaked content, via platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, X, YouTube, or torrents, will face individual legal action.

Statement from the legal team of Jana Nayagan

The producers have already initiated proceedings against the source of the leak and stated that further action is underway against all those involved in its circulation. They have also urged the public to refrain from engaging with or sharing any leaked material, cautioning that strict civil and criminal consequences will follow.

The leak comes shortly after Vijay took an indirect dig at his political opposition for deliberately contributing to a delay in the release of the film. Jana Nayagan was originally slated for release on January 9, but it has since been delayed for lack of censorship clearance.

A Censor Board revising committee member objected to certain scenes in the film, after which the makers filed a case against the board, taking it through a litigation process.

Subsequently, the producer withdrew its case against the board and submitted the film again to the committee after applying the requisite cuts. The film is still going through a re-examination process, and the latest reports say that it would most likely not release before the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election.

Helmed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan also stars Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, and Narain, among others. The film is said to be a remake of Bhagavanth Kesari, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and Sreeleela. The makers of both films denied talks about it being a remake before the Vijay starrer's trailer made it virtually obvious.
