Arya, who is currently awaiting the release of his spy-thriller Mr X, has opened up about his 40th film. Backed by his production house The Show People, with the actor's wife, Sayyeshaa on board as a producer, the film was announced in December last year.

In a recent interview with Cinema Vikatan, the actor said the upcoming film, directed by Nikhil Muraly, would be a "breezy rom-com" contrary to all the intense roles he has done over the last couple of years. "After a long time, I am working on a romantic film. I've always been fighting in films, so I decided that I will only be talking to two female leads in the upcoming film. The scenes and dialogues would completely involve me and both of them. Just like how Raja Rani was a sweet romantic film, Arya 40 too will have such themes. It will be an emotional rom-com based on modern-day love stories," he said, stating that the film is in the final stages of completion.

Arya stars alongside Vaishnavi Chaitanya and Nikhila Vimal in the film. On the technical front, Jeeva Sankar is the cinematographer for Arya40, Binu Napoleon is the editor, AR Mohan is the art director, and Stunt Silva is the stunt choreographer. Director Halitha Shameem is writing the dialogues and additional screenplay for the film.

Besides these two films, Arya will also been seen in Pa Ranjith's upcoming film, Vettuvam and Sarpatta Parambarai 2. The former will also star VR Dinesh, Sobitha Dhulipala, and Kalaiyarasan, among others. He will also be seen in Ananthan Kaadu, which is directed by Jiyen Krishnakumar, and written by Murali Gopy (Lucifer and L2: Empuraan).

Meanwhile, Mr X is slated for a release on April 17.
