Umapathy Ramaiah has been announced as the director of an upcoming film, backed by Kannan Ravi. Tentatively titled Production No 6, the film will be Umapathy's second directorial.

Apart from Kannan Ravi, the film is also backed by Deepak Ravi and Gantaara Studios are also backing the film. The announcement comes on the heels of Gautham Ram Karthik joining the cast of the Kannan Ravi backed film, tentatively titled Production No 5. The film is directed by Chinnasamy Ponnaiah and will have its music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Apart from these two films the producer is also backing a film which reunites Prabhu Dheva and Vadivelu. The film which also stars Babloo Prithveeraj is written and directed by Sam Rodrigues. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing music for this film also.

Umapathy Ramaiah made his directorial debut with the 2024 film Rajakili. The film starred Samuthirakani, Aadukalam Naren, alongside Thambi Ramaiah, Umapathy's father.
