Actor Raghava Lawrence is also known for his charity work through his Maatram Foundation. The other day, he took to social media to make a special request for specially abled individuals who perform the sport of Mallar Kambam. The actor, who also works as a choreographer, singer and filmmaker, underscored people's difficulty in performing the sport. "Even for people with both hands and legs in full function, balancing and climbing the pole is difficult. So imagine how challenging it is for differently-abled individuals to do the same. But when they take on that challenge and succeed, it becomes their livelihood—something that helps them support their families," he said. Then, he made a request to the public to help the aforementioned individuals.

"Many of you know about my journey with these incredible, specially abled boys. Through their dedication and hardwork, they have mastered the ancient and challenging art of Mallar Kambam (pole sport). What makes it truly extraordinary is not just the difficulty of the act, but the confidence with which they perform," wrote the actor. He then asked people to provide the said individuals with opportunities to perform at "events, functions, and cultural programs where they can showcase their hard work and passion."

In a video he shared on social media to make the plea, he can be seen watching the individuals perform the sport and appreciating them.

Raghava Lawrence is known for helming the Kanchana franchise, as well as his roles in films such as Jigarthanda DoubleX, Chandramukhi 2, and Muni. He has many projects in the pipeline, including Benz, which is part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), Bullet, and a fourth part in his Kanchana franchise. As a philanthroper, the multi-hyphenate recently requested fans not to put money into his foundation and instead help people in need directly.
