Actor Kavin opened up about the audience's response to two of his recent films: Star and Bloody Beggar. In a recent conversation with Sudhir Srinivasan, Kavin said that he felt happy about the commercial success of Star, although it got "mixed reception" from the audience. "We have to look at the numbers a little bit as well. If the producer is happy, we are equally satisfied. In that sense, I am happy with the commercial performance of Star," said Kavin. However, the actor revealed that he expected a lot from Bloody Beggar in terms of the box office numbers. "I thought that it would benefit others involved in the film a lot, not just me. However, I felt a bit sad about the reception for the film," he said.

Further explaining the reception for Bloody Beggar, Kavin shared that everyone is entitled to have their opinion and that it made him realise the difference in the response for a film after its theatrical release versus the OTT premiere. "Once, someone asked me about it (the different responses), and I said that this never happened to my films. However, it has happened now, but I do not understand why."

Kavin added that the positive feedback for Bloody Beggar after its OTT release made him realise that the work behind the film is "correct". The actor also said that the feedback he got for the film from many viewers after its release cleared his doubts regarding the amount of viewership it would have.

Kavin will next be seen in KISS, a romantic comedy from director Sathish Krishnan and also starring Preethi Asrani. KISS is slated for a September 19 release.
