With just a week left for the release of Kavin's next, Kiss, the actor has revealed that his character has been named after a successful filmmaker. Also starring Preethi Asrani in the lead, the film marks the directorial debut of choreographer Sathish Krishnan.
Just a day after the trailer for Kiss was released, director Nelson, a well-wisher for Kavin, took to his official X handle to shower praises on the trailer and the film's team. He wrote, "Looks super cool. All the best, my dear friend Sathish, for your debut direction, and Kavin for another success." (sic)
Replying to his praise, Kavin said, "Thanks for everything, nae. Anba epdi kaatradhu nu theriyaama padathula unga paera vechukutaen!" (Thanks for everything, elder brother. My character is named after you in the film, as a form of showing my love to you."
Kavin has often expressed his gratitude to Nelson for introducing him to the industry as an assistant director. Kavin's last release, Bloody Beggar, was also produced by Nelson. Now, he has also named his character after the filmmaker.
Kiss also stars Mirchi Vijay, VTV Ganesh, Devayani, Prabhu, Rao Ramesh and Sakthi Raj in prominent roles. Kavin's sixth as an actor, the film has music composed by Jen Martin, cinematography handled by Harish Kannan and editing by RC Pranav. Mugil and R Savarimuthu are collaborating with him for additional dialogues.
Kavin had two releases last year:StarandBloody Beggar. In addition toKiss, he hasMaskand Hi, by debut directors Vikarnan Ashok and Vishnu Edavan, respectively, in the pipeline. Kiss releases alongside Vijay Antony'sShakthi Thirumagan in theatres. Nelson is currently filming for Jailer 2 with Rajinikanth.
