Ashwath Marimuthu dismisses rumours about Silambarasan, reveals key details about STR 51: 'It's my fault...'

Revealing that he takes time to write his scripts, Ashwath Marimuthu said that he also prioritises spending time with his family

Director Ashwath Marimuthu, who made his debut with Oh My Kadavule  and sophomore venture with the hit film Dragon, starring Pradeep Ranganathan, is currently working with Silambarasan in STR 51. While a brief glimpse was released earlier this year, no other official updates were shared by the makers.

Addressing speculations, the director dsmissed rumours about Silambarasan's behaviour and clarified, "I really like Silambarasan sir. There are many reports on social media citing him as the reason for STR 51's delay in filming. But, he is ready the moment I call him on set. He is disciplined and fit, whereas the fault lies on me."

Revealing that he takes time to write his scripts, Ashwath said that he also prioritises spending time with his family. "I had worked a lot for Dragon for over a year. It is only now I was able to spend time with my parents. I also had to deal with their health issues. Now, I will focus on this film with full rigour. STR 51 will surely release next year. It will be entertaining and you will see your favourite hero on screen once again. He is also excited to join the sets," he said, adding that like the promo, the film too will be full of energy. "I promise you a great film," he noted.

Sharing key details about the genre, he elaborated, "The adrenaline rush that you witnessed in Dragon and the love that you felt in Oh My Kaduvule will be seen in this film. At the same time, the Simbu that you saw during his peak years in films like Kuthu, Dum and Manmadhan will be seen here in a movie that satisfies all audience."

Backed by AGS Entertainment, the film was tentatively titled AGS 27. Silambarasan will be playing God Of Love in the upcoming film. STR 51 is slated for a release in summer 2026.
