
Director Ashwath Marimuthu is on cloud nine after meeting actor Allu Arjun and composer-singer Devi Sri Prasad. The filmmaker took to his X handle to share the news and called the Pushpa actor an "icon and a perfect gentleman". He thanked him for the love and words of appreciation he shared for the director's work.
"Thank you Devi Sri Prasad for being the sweetest friend and the greatest human possible," he added, posting pictures after their meet. Following the meeting, many curious social media users have speculated about a potential collaboration between them in the near future. However, the director is yet to address these rumours.
Ashwath Marimuthu made his directorial debut with Oh My Kadavule in 2020 starring Ashok Selvan, Ritika Singh and Vani Bhojan in the lead. The film earned rave reviews for its story, screenplay and performances. The film was remade in Kannada as Lucky Man (2022) and in Telugu as Ori Devuda (2022).
His sophomore film Dragon was released earlier this year starring Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead alongside Anupama Parameswaran and Kayadu Lohar. Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon, KS Ravikumar and George Maryan. This film too was critically and commercially successful for Ashwath.
The director is currently working on Silambarasan 51st film STR 51. It is expected to release in the summer of 2026. Providing more details about what kind of film STR 51 will have, he said it will have what his previous films Oh My Kadavule and Dragon had and also things that people love to see in an STR film.
