On Monday, the team behind Bad Girl addressed the press at a press meet in Chennai. Along with director Varsha Bharath, producer Vetri Maaran, and lead actors Anjali Sivaraman, Hridhu Haroon, Shanthi Priya, and Teeja Arunasalam, director Mysskin was also present at the event.

After praising Varsha Bharath and Bad Girl, Mysskin also extended his speech to comment about Vetri Maaran’s long-under-development Vaadivaasal, with Suriya in the lead. He said he is excited to watch the film on the big screens and added, "After 60 years, Mani Ratnam had the opportunity to create Ponniyin Selvan. Likewise, Vetri Maaran, Suriya and Kalaipuli S Thanu had the same to create Vaadivaasal, another classic novel. I am eagerly waiting for the film to be released. It will be the greatest film in Vetri and Suriya's careers.”

Following Mysskin’s speech, Vetri Maaran took to the stage to give the filmmaker as well as the audience an update about the film. He said, “I am not able to reveal much about Vaadivaasal due to a couple of technical reasons. However, updates will roll in soon, in about 10 days.”

Bad Girl is the directorial debut of Varsha Bharath and is backed by directors Vetri Maaran and Anurag Kashyap. The film won the NETPAC (Network for Promotion of Asian Cinema) Award at the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2025, where it held its world premiere.

Anjali Sivaraman leads the cast of Bad Girl, which also includes Hridhu Haroon, TeeJay Arunasalam, Saranya Ravichandran, Shanthi Priya, and Sashank Bommireddipalli. Anjali made her debut with Netflix's Class, which is an adaptation of the streamer's own Spanish drama Elite.

Acclaimed composer Amit Trivedi is composing the music for the film. The rest of the crew of Bad Girl includes Preetha Jayaraman, Jagadeesh Ravi, and Prince Anderson as the cinematographers, Radha Sridhar as the editor, and V Shanmugaraja as the production designer. Notably, the film also has an intimacy co-ordinator, Jayalakshmi Sundaresan, on its crew. Vikrem Vybav RS serves as an executive producer on the film.
