Costume designer Joy Crizildaa, who has been embroiled in a controversy surrounding chef-cum-actor Madhampatty Rangaraj and has levelled multiple allegations against him including cheating, has announced announced the birth of her child. Taking to her X handle, Joy said she and Madhampatty have been blessed with a baby boy.

Joy had on Wednesday approached the Chennai Family Welfare Court seeking a monthly maintenance amount of Rs 6.5 lakh to cover her medical expenses, house rent, and other necessities, stating that she was in the final month of pregnancy and is unable to continue her profession.

The duo have been entangled in a legal battle since Joy, Madhampatty's alleged former parter, had accused him of cheating her and making her fight for her life along with the rights of her unborn child. Madhampatty and Joy have been at the centre of controversies since they got married earlier this year, with the latter annoucing her pregnancy soon after. Joy filed a police complaint within weeks, alleging that he abandoned her, concealed the existence of his first wife and tricked her into marrying him. She also reportedly stated that he had cheated many women like her.

In response, the popular chef filed a civil suit restraining Joy Crizildaa from making false, malicious and defamatory statements against him in any form of media including reels, videos, photos or captions. He also sought an interim direction to her to remove his name and content that defames him.

In a lengthy statement, Madhampatty Rangaraj recently wrote that several individuals approached him to settle the matter outside the court of law. However, he underlined his faith in the judicial system, noting that "the truth will be established in accordance with law."
