After a barrage of allegations from costume designer Joy Crizildaa, Chef-cum-actor Madhampatty Rangaraj has broken his silence, issuing a statement, expressing his desire to address the ongoing dispute in the court and not anywhere else.
In his latest statement, he wrote that several individuals approached him to settle the matter outside the court of law, but Rangaraj underlined his faith in the judicial system, noting that "the truth will be established in accordance with law."
He also said that he does not wish to engage in or respond to any forms of media trial or debate. "I firmly believe that justice must be pursued through due process, not through speculation or social media discussions," he added, requesting print media and members of the social media community to refrain making any comments regarding the ongoing controversy.
He asserted his intention to abide by the law, facing the dispute at the court and "not in any other way as expected by Joy Crizildaa."
Rangaraj concluded his note by saying, "I extend my heartfelt thanks to all my well-wishers, friends, and supporters for standing by me with your prayers and encouragement. Your trust gives me strength."
Joy, Madhampatty's alleged former parter, had accused him of cheating her and making her fight for her life along with the rights of her unborn child. He has been embroiled in the controversy since he married Joy earlier this year, with the latter annoucing her pregnancy soon after. Joy filed a police complaint within weeks, alleging that he abandoned her, concealed the existence of his first wife and tricked her into marrying him. She also reportedly stated that he had cheated many women like her.
The popular chef had earlier filed a civil suit restraining Joy Crizildaa from making false, malicious and defamatory statements against him in any form of media including reels, videos, photos or captions. He also sought an interim direction to her to remove his name and content that defames him. Although the court dismissed the petition, she filed another complaint with the Tamil Nadu State Commission for Women last week.
