Director Mari Selvaraj's Bison, starring Dhruv Vikram and Anupama Parameswaran in the lead roles, hit theatres earlier today. The film has opened to rave reviews from both critics and other viewers, including those from the Indian film industry. Take actor Komalee Prasad, known for her roles in Telugu cinema, for instance. A while ago, she took to her Instagram Stories to commend Anupama's performance in the sports drama. In her post, Komalee Prasad said, "Really missed the 80s heroins, where they would flex their potentials in diversified roles. Anupama Parameswaran is the perfect 'Actress' that Indian industry should acclaim and write more promosing roles for her. The role she has essayed is something totally unique and clapworthy."

The film, also titled Bison Kaalamaadan, is inspired by the life of Kabaddi player and Arjuna Awardee Manathi Ganesan. It is written and directed by Mari Selvaraj. The plot follows a youngster (Dhruv Vikram) who deals with many hurdles in his journey of achieving his goal of playing for India one day. The film also stars Pasupathy, Lal, Ameer, Rajisha Vijayan, and Azhagam Perumal, among others.
