Cheran on Bison: May oppression end, and Mari make happy films

Critics and audiences praised the movie for the inspiring story of an aspiring athlete who makes it big from his caste-violence ridden region

Praising filmmaker Mari Selvaraj's recent film Bison Kaalamaadan, director Cheran wished that the movie would become a 'diamond' like the other works in Mari's filmography.

On his social media handle, Cheran commented on the recurring social justice theme in Mari's films, "May oppression end and protests conclude soon, and Mari make films that evoke happiness and optimism in people."

The film opened to mostly positive reviews. Critics and audiences praised the movie for the inspiring story of an aspiring athlete who makes it big from his caste-violence ridden region.

Bison Kaalamaadan is written and directed by Mari Selvaraj, with music composed by Nivas K Prasanna in his first collaboration with the director. The cast for Bison Kaalamaadan includes Anupama Parameshwaran, Ameer, Lal, Rajisha Vijayan, Azhagam Perumal, Aruvi Madhan, and Anurag Arora.

The crew of the film includes Ezhil Arasu K as the cinematographer, Sakthi Thiru as the editor, Kumar Gangappan as the art director, and Dhilip Subbarayan as the action choreographer. Pa Ranjith is producing the film along with Sameer Nair, Aditi Anand, and Deepak Segal. Sunil Chainani, Pramod Cheruvalath, and Prasoon Garg serve as co-producers on the film. Applause Entertainment and Neelam Studios are the banners backing the film.
