Harish Kalyan, last seen in Lubber Pandhu, is busy gearing up for the release of his next, Diesel, which is scheduled for Deepavali. In a recent interview with Maathevan, the actor listed his favourite performances of Ajith and Vijay.

He said, "I really love Vaalee. Ajith sir’s performance in that film is incredibly balanced. He portrayed both extremes with such perfection. I’m not justifying what the antagonist does, but his performance in that negative shade was truly brilliant. Similarly, in Priyamudan, I love Vijay sir’s character. Both these films gave their negative characters the endings they deserved, yet their performances were so powerful that they still found a place in the audience’s hearts."

Vaalee, helmed by SJ Suryah, also stars Simran and Jyotika in lead roles, while Vivek, Rajeev, Pandu and Sujitha appear in supporting roles. The film revolves around identical twins Shiva and Deva, with Deva being deaf-mute. When Shiva marries Priya, Deva becomes obsessed with and lusts for her.

Priyamudan, on the other hand, is a Vincent Selva directorial, also starring Kousalya in the lead. It tells the story of a young businessman, who is of a hyper-possessive nature, and therefore he tries to achieve whatever he desires using any means.

The rest of the cast of Diesel includes Athulyaa Ravi, Vinay Rai, Sai Kumar, Ananya, Karunaas, Ramesh Tilak, Kaali Venkat, and Vivek Prasanna, among others. The film is helmed by Shanmugam Muthusamy.

The Diesel teaser, released in August, opens with a voiceover by Harish Kalyan, stating that to achieve happiness in the face of financial authority and power, one must fight without fear of the adversary. The teaser then showcases intense action scenes, transitions into a romantic sequence, and returns to thrilling stunts. Most details regarding the plot have been kept under wraps.

Diesel is all set to hit theatres on October 17 alongside Dhruv Vikram's Bison and Pradeep Ranganathan's Dude.
