With Dhanush's latest film Idli Kadai witnessing a steady rise in footfall in theatres and box office collections since its release on Wednesday, the makers of the drama have warned those promoting or distributing pirated copies of the film of strict legal action.

Dawn Pictures, which has backed the film, wrote on their timeline that "any leaked or pirated content of Idli Kadai will be removed immediately without warning". It further stated that strict legal action will be taken against those promoting or distributing pirated copies of the film.

The production house also urged audiences to report pirated content or spoilers immediately, asking audiences to protect cinema and shared links where audiences could report piracy.

Dhanush stars as Murugan in Idli Kadai who goes back to his roots to revive his father's Idli Kadai after working in a michelin star restaurant. The star cast also includes Nithya Menen as Kayalvizhi, Sathyaraj as Vishnu Varadhan, Arun Vijay as Ashwin who plays the antagonist, Samuthirakani as Marisamy, Rajkiran as Sivanesan, Shalini Pandey as Meera and Parthiban as R Arivu.

The film has been receiving positive reviews upon release, with many praising its heartwarming moments, while expressing their disappointment on the story's predictability. It had earned Rs 10 crore in India on its opening day with the revenue is only expected to increase through the weekend.

The technical crew comprises Dhanush's frequent collaborator, composer GV Prakash, cinematographer Kiran Koushik, editor GK Prasanna, and art director Jackson.

The film is produced by Akash Bhaskaran through his Dawn Pictures banner and Dhanush through his Wunderbar Pictures banner. The film marks Inban Udhayanidhi's (son of Tamil Nadu's Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin) first film credit as a distributor.
