The post-production work on Lockdown, the upcoming drama led by Anupama Parameswaran, is swiftly moving toward the finish line. Music director N R Raghunanthan, who is composing for the film along with Siddharth Vipin, revealed that the team has entered its final audio phase.

Sharing an update on X, the composer—celebrated for his National Award-winning contributions to Thenmerku Paruvakaatru and Neer Paravai—wrote that the “Lockdown movie final mix going on”, signalling that the film is nearly ready for release.

Directed by A R Jeeva and backed by Subaskaran’s Lyca Productions, Lockdown is inspired by a true story and has already created considerable buzz as a women-centric drama. The recently released trailer paints a tense portrait of Anitha, played by Anupama Parameswaran, who appears terrified of returning home for reasons she keeps hidden from her family.

Her struggles intensify with unwelcome attention from men and the sudden announcement of a 21-day nationwide lockdown during the peak of the COVID outbreak, trapping her in an environment she’s desperate to escape. The trailer hints at her growing distress—from constantly checking her phone and losing her temper to urgently reaching out to friends for money. Her concerned parents repeatedly question her behaviour, and at one point, she and a friend attempt to contact a doctor, only to learn he is in isolation after testing positive.

Alongside Anupama, the film features an ensemble cast including Charlie, Nirosha, Priya Venkat, Livingston, Indhumathi, Rajkumar, Shamji, Lollu Sabha Maran, Vinayak Raj, Vidhu, Abhirami, Ravathi, Sanjivie, Priya Ganesh, and Asha.

The technical lineup includes cinematography by K A Sakthivel, editing by V J Sabu Joseph, and art direction by A Jayakumar. Lockdown is slated to release on December 5.
