Expressing anguish over the recent horrific gang rape in Coimbatore, actor Gouri Kishan, in a promotional event of her upcoming film Others, said that incidents such as this one are deeply concerning and make her feel helpless.

To question about the incident at a press meet, she said, "Reports of sexual assaults and rapes are a worrying trend. Every time I read about this, I feel like 'When will this end?'. Being a student of journalism, I follow these issues, and they are concerning."

Commenting on this issue, her co-star Anju Kurian said not only should the laws be made stringent, but people's mindset needs to change.

They also attacked the woman's companion with a machete. Following their arrest, in a failed bid to escape, the trio was shot in the legs by the police.

Billed as a medical thriller, Others marks the acting debut of Aditya Madhavan and the directorial debut of Abin Hariharan. The rest of the star cast includes Munishkanth, Hareesh Peradi, Nandu Jagan, Mala Parvathy, and Vinoth Sagar.

The film is releasing in theatres on November 7.
