Joining the list of exciting cameos in Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 is acclaimed Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna. Reportedly, the Daaku Maharaj star will appear in the Nelson Dilipkumar-directed sequel for a brief but impactful 10-minute role.

According to film industry sources, he will be featuring in a high-octane mass fight scene and a complex sequence set against the backdrop of a blockbuster movie set. Reports suggest that Balakrishna is being paid a whopping Rs 22 crore for this 10-minute appearance. However, an official announcement regarding the same is yet to be made by the makers.

Jailer 2's shoot is currently underway in Kozhikode, Kerala. Earlier, the team shot for around 20 days in Palakkad, around Sholayoor Gonjiyoor, and Anakatti.

Jailer 2, the sequel to the 2023-released blockbuster, has Nelson back in the director's chair. Rajinikanth is set to reprise his role as 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian, and will be joined by Ramya Krishnan, who played his wife in the first part. Anna Raajan, best known for her breakthrough role in Lijo Jose Pellissery's Angamaly Diaries (2017) is also part of the cast. While there are speculations that actors Shivarajkumar, Mohanlal, and Jackie Shroff, who appeared in powerful cameos in Jailer are returning for Jailer 2, there have been no official announcements about the same. Plot details and other cast members who are part of the film are under wraps.

Backed by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 will have music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan and editing by R Nirmal.

Last seen in Daaku Maharaaj, Nandamuri Balakrishna is currently working on Akhanda 2, the sequel to Boyapati Srinu's 2021 action film. The film has been tentatively slated for a release on September 25 this year.
