The film, which the actor produces through his banner, is releasing on August 1

Sivakarthikeyan told exclusively to CE that he is not attending the promotional events for his upcoming production House Mates to avoid setting too much expectation for a "small film". The actor, who produces the film through his namesake banner, revealed that such films should gain awareness through positive word of mouth over the first week of release instead of excessive promotions. The actor expects positive feedback to come from audiences for House Mates during that time. He is attending the film's celebrity premiere in Chennai tonight.

Written and directed by Rajavel, House Mates is described as a fantasy horror comedy. The film stars Darshan, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Kaali Venkat and Vinodhini Vaidynathan in important roles. Dheena, Kenrick Ashley, and Abdool Lee are also part of the cast. The film has cinematography by MS Sathish, editing by A Nishar Sharef, music by Rajesh Murugesan, and stunts by Dinesh Kasi. House Mates is among the many films releasing on August 01, Friday. Also set to release on the same day are Surrender, Blackmail, Accused, and Muthal Pakkam.

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan is awaiting the September 05 release of Madharaasi, directed by AR Murugadoss and co-starring Rukmini Vasanth, Vidyut Jammwal, Vikranth, Biju Menon and Shabeer Kallarakkal. Sivakarthikeyan's upcoming films also include Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara and also starring Ravi Mohan, Sreeleela in her Tamil debut, and Atharvaa.
