Nithya Menen, who is busy with a couple of projects in hand, has recently revealed that her upcoming romantic film Dear Exes is not going forward. Directed by Kamini, an erstwhile assistant of director Vishnu Vardhan in her directorial debut, the film was also set to star Prateik Babbar, Vinay Rai, Navdeep and Deepak Parambol in key roles.

The first look poster of the film was released on April last year. It was announced as a "refreshing take of a slice-of-life movie, reflecting a girl’s perspective on relationships" but there have been no further announcements regarding on it since then.

In an exclusive interview with OTTplay, Nithya Menen had confirmed that the tale of a 'soup girl' is not happening. It is not clear if the film will move ahead with another actor.

Meanwhile, Nithya Menen's Thalaivan Thalaivii, also headlined by Vijay Sethupathi is having a good run in theatres. Directed by Pandiraaj, the romantic drama revolves around Agasaveeran and Perarasi's marital life and the issues they face in it.

Yogi Babu, Chemban Vinod Jose, Saravanan, Kaali Venkat, RK Suresh, Mynaa Nandhini, Deepa, Roshini Haripriyan, and Sendrayan, among others play supporting characters in the film.

Nithya Menen's next big release is Idly Kadai, directed by Dhanush and starring him in the lead. The film is slated for release in theatres on October 1.

The film also features an ensemble cast consisting of Arun Vijay, Nithya Menen, Rajkiran and Samuthirakani, among others. While it is hinted that Dhanush will take on the role of the owner of a modest eatery called Sivanesan Idli Kadai, much of the details surrounding the plot are unknown.
