Sam CS, who has made many chartbusters across South Indian industries, was recently associated with Tamil films like Vijay Sethupathi's Ace, his son Surya Sethupathi's Phoenix and Kalaiyarasan's Trending. The composer has now spilled details about his upcoming projects, including one with director H Vinoth and Dhanush.

In an interview ahead of the release of his first animated project Mahavatar Narasimha, the composer confirmed that he is indeed joining hands with the director and actor. The upcoming film marks Sam CS' first collaboration with Dhanush.

Elsewhere in the interview, he also spoke about the declining quality of music in films and the rise of young composer Sai Abhyankkar. "If it's much anticipated movie, the songs also receive similar response. For people like us, only if the film becomes a hit, the audience start listening to the songs. It doesn't happen earlier. If it has to become a hit, we need to spend money to market it, do PR for it and make audience do reels on it. People aren't aware what all songs are releasing these days," he shared.

Highlighting the declining recall value for songs being made in recent times, he said, "When a song becomes a hit and rules our playlists and social media, a question arises if it will continue to stay after a month. If that doesn't happen, how do we label it as a 'hit' song? We say Raja (Ilayaraaja) sir's songs were a hit because they continue to resonate among audiences after decades. This is the same case with AR Rahman. When you listen to AR Rahman hits, you won't be able to skip any of the songs. But take the hits from 2010-15 or even till 2020 and see how many times you skip the song. That reflects the declining quality of music."

Sam CS also had a few points to share about composer Sai Abhyankkar's rise in the music industry. Ever since he has been landing in big projects back to back even before his debut, social media has been abuzz with varied reactions, with some appreciative of the composer's popularity and rise, and others criticising filmmakers for banking on him despite the availability of multiple other talented composers in the industry.

Giving his two cents on the issue, Sam said, "There were many who tagged my name on social media, used a sad background music, and asking why I was not getting big projects. The reason why Sai Abhyankkar has been getting these many opportunities is because he is a good musician. A very talented one also. He works hard and has many songs in his bank. I am unperturbed when they ask me why I have not been given such big projects. I don't do any PR for my work, or tell people to post such content. I am satisfied with my line-up of films."

Mahavatar Narsimha is directed by Ashwin Kumar and produced by Kleem Productions. It will be available in 3D and five Indian languages upon its release on July 25.

This film is the first in Hombale Films' ambitious Mahavatar Cinematic Universe which features a slate of animated films based on the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu. The films will be released between 2025 and 2037.
