Director PC Shekar has unveiled the first-look posters of Radhika Narayan and Mithra from Mahaan, offering a glimpse into the two pivotal characters in his upcoming rural drama. Produced by Prakash Buduru under the Aakash Pictures banner, the film stars Vijay Raghavendra as a socially conscious farmer and Shiva Rajkumar in a special appearance.
Known for RangiTaranga, Radhika Narayan steps away from her familiar urban image to play a village nurse in Mahaan who becomes the emotional anchor for the protagonist.
"I've always wanted to work with PC Shekar, and Mahaan gave me that opportunity," says Radhika. "It is the first time I played a rural nurse. She's someone who stands firmly by the hero through his toughest moments. Working with Vijay Raghavendra, Varsha Bollamma and Mithra has been a rewarding experience, and Shiva Rajkumar's special role adds another dimension to the film."
After his recent outing in Karavali, Mithra reunites with Shekar after Raaga. He plays Vijay Raghavendra's brother-in-law, a hot-headed yet loyal character who remains by the hero's side.
"My character has a short temper, unlike Vijay's calm nature, but the two share a strong bond," says Mithra. "Since the film revolves around farmers and their struggles, I believe audiences will relate to it."
Shekar says Mahaan presents Vijay Raghavendra in a role audiences haven't seen him play before. "He plays a farmer with a strong social conscience. Radhika's character gives him strength during difficult times, while Mithra plays a constant companion who stands with him throughout," the director says.
Mahaan marks the maiden production of Aakash Pictures. Producer Prakash Buduru says the team has mounted the film without compromise, aiming to deliver a meaningful and technically polished entertainer. With its focus on farmers' lives and an ensemble led by Vijay Raghavendra, Radhika Narayan, Varsha Bollamma and Mithra, the film promises a story rooted in social concerns, with Shiva Rajkumar's special appearance adding to the anticipation.
