Sai Abhyankkar is continuing to rise up in the ladder and is lapping up several big-budget projects on his way. The singer who made millions of audiences sway to the beats of ‘Katchi Sera’ and ‘Aasa Kooda’, has several projects in Tamil lined up, even as his debut project awaits release. That's not all. The young composer has also received red carpet welcome into Telugu cinema, as well as Malayalam cinema, by none other than Mohanlal!
Here are all of his upcoming projects:
Benz
Raghava Lawrence's Benz, directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, is Sai Abhyankkar's debut project as the composer. While works for the latest entrant in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) is going on in full swing, the film has received an additional boost with the addition of Nivin Pauly recently. The film is backed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy.
Karuppu
One of the big breakthroughs for Sai Abhyankkar came in the form of Suriya 45, now officially titled Karuppu. In the RJ Balaji-directorial, he replaced AR Rahman who was initially part of the project. Serving as his first major star-led project, Karuppu propelled Sai Abhyankkar to greater recognition in the industry. The film stars Trisha, Yogi Babu, Indrans, Swasika, Sshivada, Natty, Supreeth Reddy, and Anagha Maya Ravi.
STR 49
The next big jump for the composer came through Silambarasan's yet-to-be-titled STR 49, directed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan of Parking-fame. Touted to be a vibrant, commercial entertainer, the upcoming film is set against a college backdrop where Silambarasan will play a student. The film was officially launched in May and also stars Santhanam, Kayadu Lohar and VTV Ganesh.
Dude
Director-actor Pradeep Ranganathan's fourth project as the lead hero tiled Dude has Sai Abhyankkar composing music. The romantic action film, directed by debutant Keerthiswaran, has Mamitha Baiju as the female lead. The other cast members include Sarathkumar, Hridhu Haroon, Rohini and Dravid Selvam. The film is scheduled to release in theatres for the festive occasion of Diwali.

The untitled big budget sci-fi film in Allu Arjun-Atlee's collaborations had grabbed eyeballs not just for its makers visiting Los Angeles to consult with VFX specialists, but also for them choosing Sai Abyankkar to compose music for the untitled project. The film, which marks his Telugu debut, also has Deepika Padukone in the lead role and is produced by Sun Pictures. Reports suggest other prominent actors, including Janhvi Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur, are also in talks to join the ensemble.
Balti
The upcoming Malayalam-Tamil bilingual Balti, starring Shane Nigam in his 25th film alongside Shanthnu Bhagyaraj has Sai Abhyankkar composing music, marking his foray into the Malayalam industry. In a promo video, the composer was seen receiving a call from Mohanlal, welcoming him into the industry. Described as an action drama with a sports element, the film stars Preethi Asrani in her Malayalam debut.
Marshal
Adding to the growing list is Marshal, Karthi's 29th project directed by Thamizh of Taanakkaran-fame. Interestingly, Sai Abhyankkar will work for brothers Suriya and Karthi simultaneously in their upcoming projects Karuppu and Marshal. The period drama also stars Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead. Sathyaraj, Prabhu, John Kokken, Lal and Easwari Rao are also set to play pivotal roles.
