Bottle Radha trailer: The consequences of alcoholism explored in a lighter vein

The makers of Guru Somasundaram's upcoming film, Bottle Radha, unveiled the film's trailer on Saturday. Helmed by Dhinakaran Sivalingam, the film is gearing up for release on January 24.

Also starring Sanchana Natarajan, the trailer shows Guru's character as an alcoholic living in denial of his addiction. He is then made to go to rehab, and those portions are dealt with humour. However, his alcoholism comes with other negative consequences that make things difficult for his wife (played by Sanchana) and children.

The film also stars John Vijay, Lollu Sabha Maaran, and Merku Thodarchi Malai-fame Antony cast in crucial roles. During an exclusive conversation with CE, Dhinakaran said, "Bottle Radha is all about hope and humour. Guru sir is playing a mason who lost his life and the people he most prized to his drinking habit. The story is about his redemption."


The technical team of Bottle Radha comprises cinematographer Roopesh, editor Sangathamizhan, and music composer Sean Roldan. The film is made both in Tamil and Malayalam. Interestingly, in addition to Bottle Radha, Guru Somasundaram is also a part of Manikandan-Rajeshwar Kalisamy's Kudumbasthan, which will be releasing on the same date.
