On Monday, SSR Entertainments, the distributors of Vijay's Jana Nayagan in Kerala, announced that the film's first-day-first-show has been delayed from the previously announced time. While it was earlier set to happen at 4 am on January 9, it will not start at 6 am on the day of the release.
In their official press statement, the production house wrote, "We made every possible effort to conduct the first show of Jana Nayagan in Kerala at 4:00 am. Initially, permission for a 4:00 am show was granted from the producer’s side. However, due to the current situation and certain issues arising in Tamil Nadu, the 4:00 am show licence could not be approved. Therefore, the first show of Jana Nayagan in Kerala will be at 6:00 am. We sincerely apologise to all Kerala Thalapathy fans for the inconvenience caused. We strongly believe that the January 09, 6:00 am show will be wholeheartedly supported and made a grand success by the fans."
Helmed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is Vijay's swansong before his full-time political stint. The film also stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mamitha Baiju, Narain, and Priyamani. The film marks Vijay’s reunion with Prakash Raj after Varisu, Pooja Hegde after Beast, and Gautham Vasudev Menon after Leo.
The film is produced by Venkat K Narayana under the KVN Productions banner, with Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith NK serving as co-producers. The technical crew features cinematographer Sathyan Sooryan, editor Pradeep E Ragav, and stunt choreographer Anl Arasu.
Details about the first-day-first-show of the film in Tamil Nadu are yet to be disclosed. Jana Nayagan will clash at the box office with Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi, which is scheduled to hit screens on January 10.
