Earlier, we reported about Madonna Sebastian and Sanath starring in a romantic-comedy film, hailing from first-time filmmaker Kishore Kumar, titled Heartin. In a recent conversation with The Times of India, Kishore talked about his upcoming film. "It’s a sweet love story with emotional elements," shared Kishore before adding, “In a way, the film is set in a space that deals with two episodes of Sananth’s character’s life—his first and current love.”

Besides Sanath, known for films like Petta and Mahaan, and Madonna, the film also stars debutant Emaya T in an important role. Speaking about choosing Madonna for the role, the filmmaker explained that an actor with a strong screen presence such as the Premam star was needed as the character has many emotions. The director also cited Madonna's performance in 2016's Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum as one of the titles he went by during the casting phase. On the other hand, "Emaya came in because I thought a fresh face would be apt," the filmmaker added.

Kishore chose the title Heartin for its straightforwardness and visibility, as well as because it supports the narrative. A director who considers himself a 'self-taught' movie maker, he cited Gautham Vasudev Menon's Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa as the film that inspired him to make films.

Speaking about his entry into the film industry, Kishore reflected, “I took short films and participated in Naalaya Iyakkunar’s sixth season. Most of my film-related schooling happened on that show. Vetri Maaran sir was the judge, and he used to say, “Even if one doesn’t make a progressive film, don’t make a regressive film and pull society back.”
