Ahead of Parasakthi's release, Sivakarthikeyan took his time out to catch Rajinikanth's Padayappa re-release in theatres. A self proclaimed fan of the actor, Sivakarthikeyan was seen hooting and cheering for his favourite actor as he appeared on screen. Videos of the same, along with photos have been going viral on social media.

After 26 years, the iconic 1999 action drama is enjoying a dream run once again as it hit theatres during Rajinikanth's 75th birthday on December 12. The KS Ravikumar-directed film has reportedly minted over Rs 12 crore globally during the opening weekend at the box office.

Padayappa also starred Sivaji Ganesan, Soundarya, Radha Ravi, Nassar, Manivannan, and Abbas. Produced by Rajinikanth's Arunachala Cine Creations, the film still remains a favourite among Tamil fans for its strong storyline and screenplay, and also for AR Rahman's soundtrack and songs. A sequel on the film is also in the works.

Sivakarthikeyan, who was last seen in AR Murugadoss' Madharaasi, plays the lead in Sudha Kongara's Parasakthi, which hits theatres on January 14, 2026, coinciding with the festive occasion of Pongal. The film stars Ravi Mohan as the antagonist while Sreeleela makes her Tamil debut. Atharvaa will also be playing a key role. The period drama is reportedly based on the anti-Hindi agitations that happened in Tamil Nadu in 1965.

After Parasakthi, Sivakarthikeyan has an untitled film with Venkat Prabhu and Cibi Chakravarthi.
