The buzz for Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 is constantly alive, and now it is only more active than ever as speculations are rife that Hindi actor and dancer Nora Fatehi is all set to appear in a major song in the Nelson directorial.
As per a source close to the unit, Nora is currently shooting an outdoor high-octane dance number in Chennai. The song is described as an upbeat South-style track, composed by the film's composer, Anirudh Ravichander. Reportedly, the song will be unveiled in 2026. “Nora is shooting for eight days alongside Rajinikanth, which says everything about the scale of this track,” the source reportedly added.
If the reports are to be believed, then this will follow Tamannaah's 'Kaavaalaa' from Jailer. However, the makers are yet to officially announce the song.
Meanwhile, Jailer 2, which comes three years after Jailer, will see the return of Rajinikanth as 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian, alongside Ramya Krishnan, who portrayed his wife's role in the first film. While the likes of Mohanlal and Shivarajkumar, who made cameo appearances in Jailer, are expected to return, some other big names like Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna, Vidya Balan, and Mithun Chakraborty are also rumoured to be part of the sequel's cast.
Vinayakan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Santhanam recently confirmed being a part of the cast. Additionally, Meghana Raj Sarja recently confirmed that she is making her return to Tamil cinema with Jailer 2 in a key role. Malayalam actor Anna Raajan, best known for her breakthrough role in Lijo Jose Pellissery's Angamaly Diaries (2017), is also part of the cast.
Backed by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 will have music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan and editing by R Nirmal. Jailer 2 is slated for a release in theatres worldwide on June 12, 2026.
Nora Fatehi has appeared in nearly 18 special numbers, with her most recent being 'Dilbar Ki Aankhon Ka' from Thamma. She is all set to make her Tamil acting debut with Raghava Lawrence's Kanchana 4. She also has KD: The Devil in the pipeline.
