Throwback: When Yuvan Shankar Raja reminisced working on Suriya-starrer Mounam Pesiyadhe

Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed for movies led by Suriya like Mounam Pesiyadhe (2002), Perazhagan (2004), Anjaan (2014), and NGK (2019)

It has been 23 years since, Mounam Pesiyadhe, opened in theatres. The film headlined by Suriya, was Ameer's directorial debut, Trisha's debut as a lead actor, and was also one of the early projects led by Suriya to have music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

In an earlier interview with Galatta, Yuvan Shankar Raja picked the film as his favourite, having asked to choose between Nandha (2001), Poovellam Kettupaar (1999). "The programming and the sound quality of a song is what I focus on. I like Mounam Pesiyadhe because I worked a lot for its sounds," says the composer about the film.

Mounam Pesiyadhe was released on December 13, 2002. The film centred on the story of a stoic man and is tryst with love. The film also featured actor Vidharth in one of his early film appearances.
