Earlier, we reported that Khushbu Sundar's Avni Movies is backing a fantasy romantic comedy starring Vinoth Kishan, Santhosh of Ponniyin Selvan fame, and Samyuktha Viswanathan in lead roles. On Monday, the makers of the film, titled DO, unveiled Samyuktha's character poster on the occasion of her birthday.

The film, co-produced by R Madhan Kumar, has Aswin Kandasamy making his directorial debut. Samyuktha is seen in a red dress sitting in a bar setup in the character poster.

DO, as per a previously shared press release, is inspired by the surreal and larger-than-life storytelling peculiar to anime. The narrative of the film is set to follow a character navigating two realities. The film is said to explore themes of love, ambition, and identity.

The film stars Santhosh, who starred as a young Aditha Karikalan in Ponniyin Selvan 2. Other cast members include Reshma Venkatesh and Bjorn Surrao, among others.

Written by Aswin Kandasamy, Shanthakumar Chakravarthy is the director of photography, with editing done by Praveen Antony. Senthil Raghavan handles the production design for the film, with costumes by Sai Sruthi. Brinda is the choreographer for the film, with Shakthi Saravanan handling stunts. Anandita Sundar is the executive producer for the film, which is produced by Khushbu Sundar and R Madhan Kumar.

Meanwhile, Samyuktha was last seen in season 2 of Prime Video's Suzhal—The Vortex. Coming up, she has Dulquer Salmaan's I'm Game, which also stars Antony Varghese, Mysskin, Kathir, and Parth Tiwari. Nahas Hidhayath, director of RDX fame, is helming the film. Also in her pipeline is Mr Bhaarath, the acting debut of YouTube Bhaarath. Helmed by Niranjan, shooting for the film was recently wrapped.
