The makers of actors Samuthirakani and Bharath's upcoming film Veeravanakkam dropped the first look poster and announced that the film will be released on August 29.

The first-look poster, featuring Samuthirakani, is suggestive of a period drama set against India's independence struggle. The poster has Samuthirakani holding the Indian flag even when the British India police force attacks him, as a recall to the historical event of Kumaran, who is hailed as 'Kodikaatha Kumaran', meaning the Kumaran who safeguarded the flag.

Directed by Anil V Nagendran and produced by Visarad Creations, Veeravanakkam has cinematographers V Kaviyarasu and Sinu Sidharth, editors B Ajithkumar and Appu Bhattathiri, music composers MK Arjunan, Perumbavoor G Ravindranath, James Vasanthan, and CJ Kuttappan, stunt choreographer Mafia Sasi, and art director K Krishnankutty.

Samuthirakani had two releases this year: Vanangaan, starring Arun Vijay and directed by Bala, and Maargan, starring Vijay Antony and directed by Leo John Paul. Actor Bharath, who was last seen in Once Upon A Time in Madras, will next be seen in Sri Senthil's Kaalidas 2, a sequel to the 2019 psychological thriller film Kaalidas.
