At the Agaram Foundation’s 15th anniversary celebrations, Karthi offered heartfelt reflections on what makes the organisation truly special: the unwavering spirit of giving and compassion, led by Jyotika’s inspiring outlook.

He remarked on the contrast between today’s social media climate, where empathy can seem rare and envy ever-present, and the reality he witnesses through Agaram. “Agaram is a collective gesture of love and kindness, with countless people contributing selflessly for the good of those in need, expecting nothing in return. This is proof that our society is still made of love.”

Highlighting the dedication of Agaram’s team, he shared that the foundation has so far received nearly 95,000 applications for help. Volunteers have visited 20,000 homes in person, and although they’ve been able to support just over 1,800 children so far, all 20,000 children deserve help. “It’s overwhelming to realise how many are still in need,” he said.

Karthi paid special tribute to Suriya and Jyotika’s leadership: “Suriya Anna always says it’s enough if these children are able to study and grow in life. And whenever we face a financial crunch, Jyotika Anni reassures us: ‘Did we start this with money? We started this with love. Money will follow.’ If not for her support, Anna could not have come this far.”

He concluded by recalling how Jyotika led by example, even volunteering Agaram’s help for hospitals during Covid, despite the foundation’s focus on education. “We always learn from what we see around us,” he said, underlining that it’s the unwavering goodwill and consistent teamwork that have brought Agaram this far and will carry it further.
