
We had last year reported that Karthi will be collaborating with director Tamizh of Taanakkaran-fame which will be backed by Dream Warrior Pictures. The film, which marks the actor's 29th project has now been titled Marshal.
The upcoming film's first look poster with Karthi establishes that the film is indeed set in a port harbour, as hinted in the announcement poster earlier, suggesting an intense period drama revolving around the people in the area. Marshal also stars Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead. Sathyaraj, Prabhu, John Kokken, Lal and Easwari Rao are also set to play pivotal roles.
Sai Abhyankkar, who has a packed year with several highly anticipated project in hand, will also compose music for this film. Sathyan Sooryan will be cranking the camera for Marshal, with edits by Philomin Raj and production design by Arun Venjaramoodu.
Tamizh made his directorial debut with the 2022 period drama Taanakkaran, starring Vikram Prabhu in the lead. The film was directly released on JioHotstar, making Marshal his first theatrical release.
Dream Warrior Pictures' SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu are producing the film alongside Ishan Saksena, Sunil Shah, and Raja Subramanian.
Karthi, who was last seen along with Arvind Swami in Meiyazhagan, directed by C Prem Kumar, also has PS Mithran's Sardar 2 and Vaa Vaathiyaar helmed by Nalan Kumarasamy awaiting release.
