On Saturday, we reported that Manikandan's film with Rajeshwar Kalisamy has been titled Kudumbasthan. On Sunday, on the occasion of the actor's birthday, the makers unveiled a new character poster of Manikandan from the film. The actor is seen holding a balloon heart in his hand with an innocent expression on his face. The film's first-look poster, which was released previously, is a telltale, where Manikandan is seen shouldering every domestic responsibility of a middle-class youngster

Billed as a family entertainer, Kudumbasthan stars Telugu actor Saanve Megghana as the female lead in her Tamil debut. Guru Somasundaram also stars in a prominent role in the upcoming film.

In a previous conversation with CE, the director shared, "Adventure-driven stories are mostly used in the action or thriller genres. I want to explore it as a family entertainer with a middle-class youngster at the centre of things. While Good Night was more of a drama, this film will be a comedy-adventure film. Also, this film is entirely set in Coimbatore and will cater to the sensibilities and expectations of our Nakkalites audience."

Backed by S Vinothkumar's Cinemaakaran banner, Kudumbasthan comprises a technical team of cinematographer Sujith Subramaniam, editor Kannan, and music composer Vaisagh.
