The makers of Vijay's GOAT unveiled the video of the 'Matta' song from the film, on Monday. The song is composed and sung by Yuvan Shankar Raja, Shenbagaraj, Velu, Sam, and Narayanan Ravishankar, with Vivek penning the lyrics. Trisha makes a cameo appearance in the song, brining back the 'Appadi Podu' frenzie and movements. 

Directed by Venkat Prabhu, GOAT also stars Prashanth, Ajmal Ameer, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prabhudeva, Mohan, and Jayaram in prominent roles. Joining them are Venkat Prabhu's frequent collaborators Vaibhav, Premgi, Ajai Raj, and Aravind Akash. Late actor and politician Vijayakanth will appear in the film with the help of AI technology.

GOAT has cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni, editing by Venkat Raajen, art direction by Rajeevan, and action choreography by Dileep Subbarayan. Kalpathi S Aghoram has produced the film under the AGS Entertainment banner, with Archana Kalpathi serving as the creative producer. The film hit theatres on September 5 and opened to average reviews.
