Vijay Sethupathi has officially taken the baton from Kamal Haasan to host Bigg Boss season 8 which will be telecast in Vijay TV. In a promo released on their page, Vijay Sethupathi was seen receiving advice from the people he meets everyday on how to deal with contestants on the show.
Just like the other seasons, the upcoming one is also expected to be unique and is set to have many fresh faces as contestants. A premiere date is yet to be announced by the makers.
Early in August, Kamal Haasan took to his X handle to announce his decision to take a break from the hosting duties of this popular TV show that has been telecast for the past seven years.
He attributed the decision to "prior cinematic commitments". According to our sources, the actor did it specifically for Mani Ratnam's Thug Life, the sequel to Nag Aswin's Kalki 2898 AD, and the Anbariv directorial.
After a successful outing with Maharaja, Vijay Sethupathi will next be seen in a number of films including Mysskin's Train, Aarumuga Kumar's Ace, and an untitled Pandiraj film with Nithya Menen playing the female lead. Meanwhile, Vetrimaaran's Viduthalai Part 2, alongside Soori, will be Vijay Sethupathi's second Tamil release of the year, scheduled to hit the theatres on December 20.
