69 films, millions of fans, and hundreds of crores of box office revenue later, Vijay will mark his final acting venture before he takes a full-time plunge into politics. Tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, the film is directed by H Vinoth.

Going by the announcement, it will dive into politics, as the tagline of the film goes, "The torch bearer of democracy." Talk about a fitting farewell!

The film sports a huge cast, including Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol in the lead roles, alongside Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani, Mamitha Baiju and Monisha Blessy. While Pooja shared space with Vijay in Beast (2022), Prakash Raj's collaborations with the actor are well known, with many popular films like Ghilli (2004) and Pokkiri (2007).

The film will hit screens next October. It is bankrolled by KVN Productions, notable for their work in Kannada cinema. Anirudh will compose the film's music, marking it his fifth collaboration with Vijay after Kaththi (2014), Master (2021), Beast (2022), Varisu (2023), and Leo (2023).
