Following actor Vijay Sethupathi's successful outing with Maharaja earlier this year, the makers announced on Friday that the film will be releasing in China.

The film will make its premiere in China on November 29. The CE review of the film reads, "Maharaja is a whodunit, and strangely enough, it's also a whats-been-done. The story is hardly new, but the value is in the screenplay."

Maharaja was released on June 14 and went on to become a critical and commercial success before being released on Netflix the following month. The film also stars Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, and Natarajan Subramaniam in pivotal roles alongside Abhirami, Aruldoss, Munishkanth, Boys Manikandan, Singam Puli, Bharathiraja, Kalki, Vinod Sagar, and Sachana Namidass.

Maharaja is produced by Sudhan Sundaram through his Passion Studios banner and Jagadish Palanisamy under his banner, The Route. It has cinematography by Dinesh Purushothaman, music by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, and editing by Philomin Raj.
