First single of Raayan, starring and directed by Dhanush, titled 'Adangatha Asuran' has been released by the makers on Thursday.

The song seems to have been set in the backdrop of the Bhogi festival. 'Adangatha Asuran' basically captures the prowess of the hero and what is he setting out to accomplish.

Penned and sung by Dhanush, along with AR Rahman, who has also composed the music of Raayan, 'Adangatha Asuran' is choreographed by choreographer-director Prabhu Deva.

Apart from Dhanush, the cast also features Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, SJ Suryah, Prakash Raj, Selvaraghavan, Dushara Vijayan, Aparna Balamurali and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in pivotal roles.

The shooting of Raayan, which is directed by Dhanush and bankrolled by Sun Pictures, was wrapped in December last year and is currently in the post-production stage.

The rest of the technical crew includes cinematographer Om Prakash, editor Prasanna GK, and action choreographer Peter Hein.

Besides Raayan, Dhanush's big line-up includes Shekhar Kammula's Kubera, Mari Selvaraj's D 52, and Ilaiyaraaja biopic with Arun Matheswaran. The actor is also directing Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam or NEEK, starring a bunch of upcoming actors.

The film is slated to be released on June 13, 2024.
