Sivakarthikeyan shared the first-look posters for the upcoming film Pechi, starring Bala Saravanan, Gayathrie, Dev Ramnath, and Jana Nathan. Extending his best wishes to the team behind Pechi, Sivakarthikeyan described it as a "folklore horror film" and revealed that it will release in July. Directed by Ramachandran, Pechi's main poster shows the lead actors amid a group of trees, with their reflections appearing on a puddle of water beneath. The other poster features the titular character, a goddess in the middle of trees, surrounded by parts of human remains and an enveloping mist.

Pechi is based on an eponymous short film directed by legendary filmmaker Balu Mahendra. The film reportedly revolves around age-old practices such as black magic and witchcraft. According to reports, the makers shot it in dense forests over a single schedule consisting of 30 days.

It has music by Rajesh Murugesan, cinematography by Parthiban, editing by Ignatious Aswin, and production design by Kumar Gangappan.
