Makers of director Shree Vetri's upcoming sports drama Narkarappor released the film's teaser video on Wednesday.

The teaser video shows how the son of the protagonist, a sanitation worker played by Abarnathi, is systematically alienated by his school as they hail from an oppressed caste. He is made to do menial tasks such as cleaning the school's toilet and sweeping. Towards the end of the glimpse, the boy discovers his passion for chess, which gives him hope that the sport will lift his family and community from discriminatory treatment.

The teaser of Narkarappor was released by director Pa Ranjith and actor Vijay Sethupathi.

Apart from Abarnathi, the film also features Lingesh, Suresh Menon, Aswin, Tamilarasi, and Anbu.

The technical crew of Narakarappor, written and directed by Shree Vettri, includes music director Dinesh Antony, cinematographers Arjun Ravi and Gnanasekar RS, editor Ranjeet CK, and art director Thiruman S Ragavan.

The film, produced Velayudham's V6 Film banner, will be released in theatres on August 2.
