Soodhu Kavvum 2 clears censorship formalities

The film is all set to hit theatres on December 13, alongside Siddharth's Miss You, and Anson Paul and Reba Monica John's Mazaiyil Nanaigiren.

With less than a week to go for the release of Shiva's upcoming comedy Soodhu Kavvum 2, the makers announced that the film has cleared censorship formalities and has received a U/A certificate. Helmed by SJ Arjun, the film stars Shiva in the lead with Karunakaran reprising his role from the original film.

Apart from Shiva and Karunakaran, the film also stars Harisha, Radha Ravi, MS Bhaskar, Karate Karthi, Ramesh Thilak, Aruldoss, Kalki, and Kavi. Soodhu Kavvum 2 film has a story penned by SJ Arjun and T Yogaraja.

The trailer, which was released recently, connects with the original film with Karunakaran's character, Arumai Pragasam, who becomes the finance minister in the upcoming film. Shiva is a disciplined kidnapper just like Vijay Sethupathi from the original. 

Soodhu Kavvum, a 2013 black comedy crime film, was directed by Nalan Kumarasamy, and also stars Bobby Simha, Ashok Selvan, Ramesh Thilak, and Sanchita Shetty in the lead roles.

Soodhu Kavvum 2's technical crew comprises music composer Edwin Louis Viswanath, cinematographer Karthik K Thillai and editor Ignatious Aswin. The film is backed by CV Kumar of Thirukumaran Entertainment and S Thangaraj of Thangam Cinemas.
