Aga Naga, the first single from Ponniyin Selvan II, will be out on this date

With Ponniyin Selvan II set to hit the theatres on April 28, the makers on Friday announced that the film's first single, Aga Naga, will release on March 20. 

Composed by AR Rahman, the song is sung by Shakthisree Gopalan. Ilango Krishnan has written the lyrics for the song. The announcement poster features Trisha as Kundavai, standing with a sword and Karthi's vandhiyathevan kneeling with his eyes tied up. The song will also be released in other languages including, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

Directed by Mani Ratnam, the first part of the film was received very well and minted big at the box office. The epic period film also features Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban.

The film, based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel, is adapted by Mani Ratnam, along with Elango Kumaravel and B Jeyamohan. Produced under the Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions banners, Ponniyin Selvan was shot by Ravi Varman, while AR Rahman composed the music. The technical crew includes editor A Sreekar Prasad and production designer Thota Tharani.
