Team Ponniyin Selvan win big at Asian Film Awards

With just weeks left for the final instalment of the much-anticipated Ponniyin Selvan, it was happy times for the team. In the recently conducted Asian Film Awards, the Mani Ratnam directorial bagged multiple awards. 

Held in Hongkong, the event was attended by filmmaker Siva Ananth, cinematographer Ravi Varman, editor Sreekar Prasad, costume designer Eka Lakhani, and Lyca Productions' GKM Tamil Kumaran. 

The film won awards for Best Picture, Best Music Director (AR Rahman), Best Production Design for (Thota Tharani), Best Editor (Sreekar Prasad), Best Cinematography (Ravi Varman), and Best Costume Design (Eka Lakhani). 

Backed by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, Ponniyin Selvan is Mani Ratnam's adaptation of Kalki's classic Tamil novel of the same name. Starring one of the biggest ensembles in Tamil cinema, including the likes of Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayaram, Sarath Kumar, Parthiban, and Shobita Dhulipala, the first instalment broke box office records all over the world.

The sequel, and the final part of the much-loved epic, is set to hit the screens on April 28.
