Following Sarpatta 2's announcement yesterday, composer Santhosh Narayanan has wished the team on Twitter. He wrote, "Vaanam Vidinjiduchu Kaasu Da Molatha!" quoting the song from Sarpatta Parambarai.
The tweet of Santhosh has almost confirmed his reunion with filmmaker Pa Ranjith, after a break that was triggered by the difference they had over the credits of the single Enjoy Enjaami. After working with composers Tenma in Natchathiram Nagargiradhu and GV Prakash in Thangalaan, the possibility of the filmmaker is expected to reunite with his long-time associate Santhosh.
Directed by Pa Ranjith, Sarpatta Parambarai was a period sports film that was released directly on the Prime Video OTT platform in 2021.
It may be noted that Sarpatta Round 2 will go on floors soon and an announcement regarding the rest of the cast members will be made soon.
The first instalment revolved around a clash between two boxing clans Idiyappa Parambarai and Sarpatta Parambarai. Set in North Chennai, the film reflects on the legacy of boxing culture and its politics.
