Nirangal Moondru passes censorship formalities

Starring Atharvaa, Sarathkumar and Rahman in lead roles, the film is helmed by Karthick Naren

Karthick Naren's upcoming film Nirangal Moondru has cleared censorship formalities with a U/A certificate, the makers announced on Wednesday. Starring Atharvaa, Rahman and Sarath Kumar in lead roles, the film marks Karthick's fifth directorial after Dhuruvangal Pathinaru (2016), Mafia: Chapter 1 (2020), a segment in Navarasa (2021) and Dhanush-starrer Maaran (2022). 

In an earlier interaction with CE, Karthick Naren said that the film will be a hyperlink thriller and the title denotes the three shades we have as humans: black, white, and grey. "That's the concept of the film, and the number three will play an instrumental role in the screenplay as well. The film is packed with several interesting elements, but I don't want to reveal them now," he added. 

Karthick Naren has previously worked with Rahman in his directorial debut Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru. The film was a successful neo-noir crime thriller which was also critically praised. Rahman played the lead in the film.

Nirangal Moondru also stars Nikki Galrani. With Jakes Bejoy scoring music, the film has Tijo Tomy on cinematography. Sreejith Sarang is the  Nirangal Moondru's editor, while Don Ashok has handled stunts. A release date for the film is yet to be announced.
