Actor TR Silambarasan was ordered by the Madras High Court on Tuesday to provide security for one crore in three weeks. The order was given in response to a request by Vels Film International Limited to prevent the actor from appearing in any other films before finishing one of its projects, Corona Kumar.

In its application, Vels Film International alleged that Silambarasan had agreed to star in the film in 2021 for a total fee of Rs 9.5 crore and later was paid Rs 4.5 crore. He refused to fulfil his commitment after that, they said. However, the judge found that it mentioned a sum of Rs 1 crore having been paid as advance to the actor for appearing in the film. There was no mention of the Rs 4.5 crore as claimed by the production house.

The Maanaadu actor has been directed by the court to furnish Rs 1 crore within three weeks. Upon failing to do so, the judge said, he would pass further orders on September 19.

Corona Kumar was announced in 2021 and was set to be directed by Gokul of Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara fame.

On the work front, Silambarasan was last seen in Pathu Thala, directed by Obeli N Krishna. He will be seen next in STR48, directed by Desingh Periyasamy and produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International.
